Leader: A reading from the Gospel of Mt. (14: 1-12)

Herod the tetrarch heard of the reputation of Jesus and said to his servants, “This man is John the Baptist. He has been raised from the dead; that is why mighty powers are at work in him.”

This is the Gospel of the Lord.

Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. (Pause for a few seconds of reflection)

    All:

We as NDU stakeholders value and respect the contribution of each member of the Notre Dame University community to the advancement of our mission. We encourage and support each other as colleagues working together for the good of the whole institution. We value human dignity and we respect the integrity of creation.

We pray that we should not anticipate evil, nor distress ourselves about the future. Let us remember that the path of hope in God’s will is always the path of safety. Thank you God for your Son, the conqueror of sin and death who lives and reigns with you forever and ever. Amen.

St. Eugene de Mazenod, pray for us.

O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person [Adam], and from him [Adam] He created his wife [Hawwa Eve], and from them both He created many men and women; and fear Allah through Whom you demand [your mutual rights], and [do not cut the relations of] the wombs [kinship]. Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you. [4:1]

Ya Allah give us wisdom to appreciate each other, to value the dignity of one’s person, by understanding and consideration. Make our character as pro-people or people centered individual; for us to live happy in this World and in the Hereafter. Ameen
