The program aims to provide a venue for the participants to undertake the following: (a) share and discuss best practices on good governance and ethical leadership, particularly in promoting greater transparenscy and social accountability at the local level; (b) present and discuss ways by which local government, civil society, and knowledge institutions can explore opportunities for collaboration; (c) develop a work program for the KDCs in engaging with local government officials on possible knowledge sharing initiatives in the community; and (d) develop LGU action plans to put into practice the lessons in the event.

Resource persons were mayors of Naga City; Nueva Ecija; Nueva Viscaya; Ifugao; Mulanay, Quezon; Governor Eddie Panlilio of Pampanga; World Bank top management; Ateneo School of Government Heads; and AIM Heads.

The participants composed of KDCs representatives from 11 Universities, and other KDC Centers (AIM, House of Representatives, and NEDA Manila).

The activities were facilitated by experts - Henry Keh, Ateneo School of Management, Henry Grageda, Asian Institute of Management, and Sheila Algabre, Notre Dame University.

Some Key Learnings: Trust, transparency, and accountability are keys to successful partnership between public and private.

Good governance is one of the most critical factors in ensuring effective public service delivery and in making growth for the poor.

Change starts with the leader.

At the end of the third day (November 6) activity, Prof. Sheila Algabre was awarded "Star KDC Member" for showing good leadership/ performance in all KDC initiated activities.
