    NDU granted 5-year deregulated status
    December 14 2009
    Fr. Ed Tanudtanud, OMI and Dr. Dolly Daguino received the Award of Distinction for Notre Dame University (for being a deregulated institution) at the Malacaņang Palance on December 10, 2009. And, Her Execellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo presented the award.

    Among the 1,741 colleges and universities in the country, only 58 private higher education institutions (HEIs) nationwide were granted autonomous and deregulated status for consistently showing exemplary performance in providing education, research, and extension services.

    Ched Chairman Dr. Emmanuel Angeles said about 44 HEIs were awarded autonomous status while 14 were given deregulated status.

    The deregulated status is effective from March 11, 2009 until March 31, 2014.
